soccermom,

I understand completely. Have you ever heard the Garth Brooks song that says "Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers."? It always makes me stop and say a little thank you prayer for what I have right now.

amen...... </font>[/QUOTE]Let me second that. Sometimes we forget that there is a reason for everything that happens.

Had major car problems last night and had to put the car in the shop today. I was dreading the bill on top of all our Christmas expenses, taxes, and new tile we just had installed. Not to mention doing without a car.

Can you believe it? All the repairs were covered under warranty! I owed zero.

So I guess on a very practical note I'm thankful for Hyundai's great warranty program!! (And the speedy repair people, too!)

I am thankful for the safe warm house I live in. I am thankful that I can get my kids something on their wishlist and that their wishlists are so small because that means to me that they don't want for much while I know they don't have it all. I am thankful for all of you who know exactly what I am going through and let me vent without asking if I am ready to quit. I am thankful for a thoughtful husband who realizes that cooking is my outlet and replaced my broken stand mixer. I am thankful for the amazing teachers my children have and that they understand their strenghts and weaknesses and like me anyway! But I am truely thankful that I get my grandpa at least one more year because he has given and taught me so much that I hope he is here to keep teaching me a little longer so I can hopefully pass some of it on to my children and grandchildren. Merry Christmas.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Right now I am thankful to the guy that is going to fix my van, the auto parts store for having the part, and the bank for saying "YES YOU ARE CORRECT! YOU HAVE THE CASH!!" :D :D

OKAY! Let me get through this!

Seriously, my mom is doing better and I know we said family was obvious but after a heart attack and mild stroke....I'm thankful God said "Nope, not yet...."
