When I took algebra last semester, my friend, who is working towards her teaching degree took it with me. It was her 5th time taking it. She wants to teach 1st grade and asked the same question you did. I think she wound up getting a tutor, but she finally got through it. Just hang in there. Our teacher said most people just dont have a teacher that explains it well enough or shows you how to do it so your mind gets it. Of course he'd been teaching it for 20 years and has a really high pass rate.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
I just want someone to please tell me why, as an elementary grade art teacher, I need to know how to graph linear equations or need to know algebra at all!
Roof - can do fractions, but start adding letters into the equation and my mind just shuts down.

T- you talk about algebra- I'm stuck on helping even with simple fractions.( for my 9 yr. old) I was never any good at math- it's embarrassing. Art has always been my subject. Leave the math to the hubby- he is a programmer.
Thanks for the heads up T! I'm obssessively toggling between weather.com and noaa.gov. The leading edge of the storm is just down the road from us. So far, though, the weather radio is quiet.

Hey CC and anyone else in the line of the nasty weather. Be careful - I know it's bad, my mom lives in TN and is going thru them right now too.
