So far, today has been better than Christmas for my son! He woke up to waffles and bacon, got a cool, teenager worthy watch from his parents (Fossil silver band, black face and red LCD flames that flicker with the push of a button), got to school 2 minutes before the tardy bell and then got to miss the first three periods because his class went to see To Kill a Mockingbird on stage. Tonight he gets Pizza Hut for dinner and then makes his own stage debut when his drama class perform for the public for the very first time. Then when we get home we're making mini molten chocolate cakes. Mmmmmmmm
This whole parenting a teenager things is a breeze. Well, at least at has been for 11.5 hours so far!

Make mine a double!!! I've been so grouchy today that I've tried to do you all a favor and stay away. I promised my family that I would take a year off and focus on our move here and things closer to home (growing family business, growing racing program, ...). They deserve the attention but I'm having trouble making the adjustment. Just when I was ready to have a full blown fit (imagining that javelin and hubby's head) hubby came home and fixed the drier for me. He's a smart man. And a good man. He's just caught in the emotional tsunami and trying to survive.
I'm going to snap myself out of it because tomorrow is our son's 13th Birthday!!! He's so excited that I don't think he'll sleep at all tonight.
