Shawn - If food in the photos looked like the real thing nobody would order it. Real food never looks good in photos! Thanks for the "Good Luck!" We need all the help we can get.

d - Thanks, friend, for the coffee invite! I'll need caffeine by then!

Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes. It was another long day at The Dutch thanks to cold, rainy, windy weather. Due to the weather, the days events were cancelled. No passes down the track today but good news is that we got a chance to take a lot of things in the motor apart and get a good look at them. So maybe when we finally get it down the 1/4 mile it'll be a good, clean run.

It's pretty common to see women at the track but you wouldn't think so based on the crowds gathered at our pit site yesterday and today. Like a girl can't turn a wrench or lay under a car that's dripping hot oil or stand on top of the golf cart while holding a 5 gallon fuel jug over her head to fill up the inconveniently high mounted generator. OK, maybe I am a bit of a side-show. I should just sell tickets..... If photos of the spectacle show up on the net I'll post the link.

At least my day wasn't as bad as my neighbor's. the Mystical 'Cuda is next door to me. The guy was backing it out of the trailer using a motorized wench. The cable broke and I guess he must've grabbed the front bumper to try to stop it from rolling out. Instead the 3200 pound car dragged him out of the trailer, banging up both hands, both wrists and one knee. Luckily it stopped just short of the SUV parked about 20 ft behind his trailer! He walked away - with just a slight limp. Hemi people are a bit crazy.

So, if the weather clears up like it's supposed to tomorrow should be a perfect day for racing!

Now I'm off for the night. Hubby is feeling a little anxious and beat up. He's asking for some snuggling (and that's all since we're sharing a room with our 13 year old son). It's the least I can do - since I'm also feeling a bit anxious and, definitely, beat up by that stinkin' car!

CC- Hope its not to late-- Good luck - dont smoke them tires

The brochures, menu pix always look better than real life- they have to be within 10% of real item (at least for pix -i.e Burgers at Restuarant- always notice how the veggies are a liitle larger,a little neater, the sandwich a bit sleeker looking than in real life)

Hi everyone..... Just popping in with a guick Hello!

We're at The Dutch. I'm exhausted. Two days on the road, 1200+ miles, hotel not what it claimed to be but having a blast. That's just racing. It's always something. Today was just time runs. On it's shake down cruise, the brand new hemi blew a hole through the #6 cylinder wall and oiled down the motor. After three hours of serious thrashing (my manicure is wrecked  ) we got it back together to make one more pass down the 1/4 mile. It wasn't what we were hoping for but it lived to run another day. So we'll go back tomorrow and see what we can do. Send happy thoughts to Reading, PA because we need all the help we can get!!!

Shawn - if beignets is your running mate, I'll vote for you. I'll even work on your campaign committee! See you at the inaugural ball....
