When we did our fine arts night, we combined it with multi-cultural night. The children did native dances, artwork, etc. Each grade in school studied a different continent and then created artwork, flags, music, etc. from the countries that they studied. Then the parents volunteered to cook either foods from a country that their student was studying or from their native country. Our school is a suburban school with approximately 500 students and we are very culturally diverse. Parents also shared items of native heritage - costumes or clothing, antique clothing and books, art and objets de art, etc. It was one of the best themes we'd ever done, but it requires A LOT of help and cooperation/coordination from the teachers and the principal.
Help, we are having a fine arts night in a couple months, and need a theme.
Can anyone share some themes you have used? This is our second fine arts night ever. We are going to have student and teacher art work on display, teacher art hobbies on display, kids doing skits, asking high school music students to come play instruments.
