We also showed HSM 2 at this Dec.'s movie night-- we had tatoos before hand... some of kids showed the other kids the dance moves before hand, and when the songs came on, they all stood up and started dancing to the song.
Love the theme idea-- going to have to use that one for the Spring-- we need to do something to get these parents ore involved.
It might be neat to have a DJ or some of the music, maybe in the auditorium, and then have someone teach the kids and the adults the dance steps.
Maybe try some party games based on the show. Maybe a basketball game to go with the one song?
It would also be amazing if you could rent a wild cats mascot and have someone walking around and dancing with the kids.
Lastly, you could try to get some donations from Radio Disney. We have them rovide the entertainment for our back to school ice cream party and they gave me like a hundred extra HSM posters. Maybe they could provide you with something like that.
What an awesome idea... We have a new principal this year after our previous principal retired after many many years... it has been a rough year thus far and this theme would have really been great...
Our membership theme is "We're All In This Together" from HS Musical. We showed the movie at our first movie night and the local High School Dance Team come and perform a dance from the movie and then they taught the dance to the audience. Everyone was up and dancing and had a great time. We sold pizza and drinks beforehand...but you could sell popcorn, soda and candy.
