Family Night in January

For January I would do a Family Fun and Games night. Those are pretty easy to do and you can order a kit from here OR you can take bits and pieces from it and make it your own. We try and encourage activies that can be done as a family during that time frame. We just did a Game Night on the 9th of this month and we did board games, puzzles and twister for our active game (not a lot of volunteers). Twister was HUGELY popular and I'm glad we did it and it was great to see the parents getting together and playing scrabble or connect four with their kids.

Two years ago we started doing a Family Fun and Games Night using the kit from PTOtoday and it was a huge hit. We are already planning our 3rd one for Jan. 2007. We liked the Fun and Games Night because the activities get everyone up and moving(something we all need after the holiday feasting).

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Ya gotta go check out www.schoolfamilynights.com

Once you pick your Night and set a date, you can order the free Planning Kit for that Night. They're not too crazy to run in the first place, and the kits make them even easier.

Have fun -- family nights are a great way to grow involvement!

I want to plan a family night for the end of January. By this time people are getting cabin fever and want to get out. Any suggestions of something that would be family friendly without being overtly complicated to put together? Also any good "theme" ideas?
