Our PTA recently hosted a Fear Factor Bingo night at our school. We had a great turn out and everyone had a lot of fun. We ordered paper bingo cards off the internet, I made certificates for all food challenge winners and gave prizes to all bingo and Fear Factor food challenge winners. (just stuff you can get from Oriental Traders, etc.) We played 2 games of bingo, then stopped to do a food challenge. These are the food challenges we came up with:
GRADES PRE-K TO 1: “What’s Up Docâ€
Challenge: Kids will have 1 minute to drink as much V8 juice out of a baby bottle.
Set up - Fill 5 baby bottles with V8 juice to the same level. Weigh each bottle.
Student who drinks the most wins.
GRADES 2 TO 4: “Yeah Baby!â€
challenge: kids will have 2 minutes to eat as much baby food as they can. The winner is the one who eats the most by weight.
Set up - Prepare plates. Weigh each plate and put weight on the plate.
1. Creamed spinach
2. Country vegetables & chicken
3. Lasagna with meat sauce
4. Chiquita Bananas
Weigh plates to determine the winner.
GRADES 5 AND 6: “The Ultimate School Lunchâ€

Set up - Take out five plates. On each plate put following foods and weigh it:
1. Artichoke hearts
2. Pickled beets
3. Blue cheese crumble
4. Hot pickled egg
5. Prunes
Weigh plates to determine the winner.
GRADES 7 AND 8: “Gourmet delightsâ€
Challenge: Kids will have 2 minutes to eat as much food as they can, the winner is the one who eats the most by weight.
Set up - Take out five plates. On each plate put following foods and weigh it:
1. Tofu
2. Anchovies
3. Cottage cheese
4. Lima beans
5. Wasabi coated green peas
Weigh plates to determine the winner.
PARENT/STUDENT CHALLENGE: “Chubby Bunnyâ€
Draw 5 teams, the kids hold a bag of marshmallows.
The parent is given a brown lunch bag.
Each kid would hand the parent a marshmallow, which the parent would put in their mouth.
They could not chew it or swallow it, it just had to sit in their mouth.
Then with the microphone, go down the line and each parent has to say "Chubby Bunny".
Then each kid gives their parent another marshmallow, so they had 2 in their mouths, and repeated saying "Chubby Bunny".
Keep repeating with marshmallows until they finally can't handle it anymore, and they have to spit the mass of marshmallows out into the paper bag.
Once you get 3 or 4 in your mouth you have a hard time saying Chubby Bunny without marshmallow drool dribbling out of your mouth.
I have to say, the "chubby bunny" was the funniest challenge! The winner got 14 marshmallows in his mouth! If anyone needs anymore information just let me know!
