Yes.. But isn't it a great event even without Chubby Bunny?
Think of all the fun things you can do with this.
Do any of you have the "Reptile Guy" or the likes of him in your community? Ours does BDay parties, etc. and brings snakes, frogs, spiders and does a presentation. I'm thinking about contacting him and seeing if he'll do a free demo and let us use his pets for Fear Factor on a weekday night. Where else is he going to have at least 100 Mommie's and Daddie's full attention all at once? Free marketing!
Hey our schools has ONE (1) certified first aider. tahts it for 1000 kiddos or thereabouts. I asked. I dont 'count' on any teachers or pto attenders knowing the heimlich, good if they do, but there are no guarentees.
tahts not enough reassurance for my taste. funnybunny can be done in private parties but not at a public school where school insureance and liabilities need to look at whats goin on.....at least, thats my gues,, i am not the district solicitor. phew.smile.
Ever heard of a finger sweep...

I saw the story on the news back when it happened. Neither the parents, the teacher nor the little girl who died thought it was dangerous. It was a game that the kids played frequently with the parents and teacher's knowledge. I'm pretty sure that the parents of the little girl who died went after the publicity after they found out that other children had died from it as well.
Just keep in mind that if someone (adult or child) chokes melted marshmellow into their windpipe, the heimlich won't do any good.
It's not worth the risk to host it at a school function, as there is ample warning out there to the potential effects.
If you want to keep your campfire game, play it at your own campfire.
