what day of week do u hold Family Fun Night

Here's another vote for Friday! 1) We don't have to pay for a janitor. 2) Staff are more likely to attend... most don't want to come back on a Saturday. Good luck with whatever you do!

We do Friday nights too. We tried Saturdays a couple times, but everyone has other things going and they weren't successful. Friday nights seem to be the laid back family night for the families at our school.

We hold all of our family events on Friday evenings. The reason for us is that the school has no janitor scheduled to work on Saturday evenings. So if we were to hold a Saturday evening function the school district would have to pay a janitor overtime to come in and be there. We can't justify the need for that so all events get held on Friday evening when a janitor is on duty until 11:00 PM and we are always done and gone before that time.

Just curious, what day of week schools hold family fun nights. I know no matter what day gets picked there will be conflicts.

Last month, we had a family movie night and we had it on Friday and it was very succesful

This February, we are planning the first annual Chill cook off/Bingo night and wondering if we should schedule for Saturday, maybe 3-6 pm or 5- 8pm type event.
The idea is to get the whole school community involved. In the past most of the kids attending bingo and movie nights are k-5 with little attencance from upper grades.
We are a public charter school k-12 school

Looking for input/reasons why schools pick a Friday over a Saturday

Thanks
