Do you ever have early out days where you'd be able to start an event earlier than usual? I've never tried this but I know a lot of our parents take those afternoons off. I know when we have things during the week, we try to get them over by 8:00.
Here is the way we do things. Our FRC and some other orgs have events during the week. They are very successful but kinda hard. Last night we had our Family Reading Night at the 5/6 Center. I, unfortunately, had a class. My son had to skip his 4-H meeting so he could come home and get ready. His dad, like alot of people around here, didn't get home from work until 4:30 and had to kick it school which is about 15 miles away. If you are rural you have to take this into consideration. My class just happened to be at the school and I thought it looked like participation was very good. Hubby thought so too. They had a blast by the way. Most of our Fall Festivals (usually sponsored by our PTOs) are held on Fridays. Since this only happens once per year turn out is great. But another thing to consider around here is that many people use Friday nights as grocery and errand night so I wouldn't want to plan alot Friday events. Also by Friday many people are wore out and just want to be home. My point is, I guess, it depends on your event and your location.
Don't forget about church events. Wednesdays and Tuesdays are not good for us to have some events because so many of our local churches have prayer meetings. Our meeting attendance was very low on Monday due to revivals.

Just wondering how the attendance has been for those that have held family fun nights on a school night? We are trying to work out having it on a Friday night versus having it during the week. Any replies are appreciated!
