Sorry, just realized that the topic said " Teacher/Staff Talent Show." You may not have the huge response, at least the first year, that we did when our kids entered the show.
Depending on the size of your enrollment, you may want to implement some sort of "screening" process or otherwise limit the number of entries and the time allotted per "act". Our last Talent Show was seven years ago. One of the biggest factors in its demise was the length of the program and no agreement on how to shorten it. I would have liked to resurrect it, but met with too much resistance.
One of the most popular types of talent exhibited by the kids was lip-synching. They came up with some very creative acts.
Our judges were volunteers from our local theatre company. Donated trophies were awarded. I don't remember if there were different catagories, or not.
The kids loved the Talent Show and were sorry to see it go. Good luck with yours, if I can think of any other tips, I'll post again!
My husband and I have been asked to host a Talent Show for our elementary school in November. Since we have never done this, can anyone with experience offer any suggestions/help? It would be much appreciated!
