I would like a flyer too. Email is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. sound like a great idea.
We are thinking of the Donuts with Dad ideas to get more involemnt with the Dads.
But we cannot have it in the morning there would be no way to serve the amount of parents and have enough parking and not interfer with the buses.
So we are thinking of having it after school I'm not sure if its going to work but its worth a try.

We are trying to plan this for our school. We are a k-5 school with approx. 285 kids. I too am concerned about space. I was thinking of the cafeteria which is not huge. We are going to include every child whether a mom/dad can come. So that all can benefit. I would like to see a sample flyer from anyone that has done this before. Our elementary school does the "muffins with Mom" and "Doughnuts with Dad". Since our Primary school doesn't do anything like that we have decided to do a Pizza with Parents night. Maybe have some games for them to play or display some of their art work.
When they do the Muffins and Doughnuts the local bakery donates the muffins/doughnuts to the school and the PTO parents serve them. Its alot of fun!!
We did this for the first time last year! There was such an awesome turnout that it will be changed this year. We will have Primary one day & Intermediate grades another day (for both Muffin/Donuts).
We also took pics. They had a background set up & took Dad/Mom's picture with the kids. Charged for the photo ($5/ea) - it was GREAT!!!
Our first Muffins with Mom and Doughnuts with Dad events are planned for Nov. 15 & 17 respectively. That's National Parental Involement Week. We're also planning to utilize the RSVP portion on our flyers. I have them already made up if anyone would like an emailed copy. We're holding ours in our library nad it can spill out into the hallways & courtyard if need be. We're an outside school so we're hoping the weather is still nice. (we're still wearing shorts to school!!). We do have some fun things donated for door prizes. Also, we're giving a little something to each parent that attends. For the Moms... we're getting seed packets, putting a decrative topper on it (to cover the price, etc.) then also stapling a piece of vellum (cut to the same size as the seed packet) that has a sentimental message for the Moms. For the Dads, we're cutting out ties from fun foam and soaking them in cologne. Adding a string and they're great air fresheners for their vehicles. I'll let you know how ours turns out.
Thanks to everyone for all of their help!
