We do a mom's meet and greet. The idea is to get mom's together who have things in common. The draw is a raffle of items donated by in home party merchants like pampered chef, tupperware, etc. First we set up 4 tables, each numbered. For the first 15 minutes we let everyone get refreshments and mingle. Then we divide the mom's up according to where they or their spouse works (military, government, local/inhome business, and other). Each mom is given a form to write down numbers and emails. We continue divided every 15 minutes. We used things like mom's with preschoolers, middle schoolers, high schoolers. Also we divided up by hobbies, neighborhoodstreets/subdivisions, etc. You can come up with your own ideas, but just keep mixing everyone up -they will eventually meet someone they have something in common with. As a bonus we provide babysitting with as many local teenagers we can find, and the mom's get their phone numbers too! We had a lot of sucess from this and many new friendships were formed!
One of our neighboring towns holds a male review every year and man-oh-man do they make great money. This is their only event every year, it's all they need to meet their budgets.
I've brought this idea up and I've been told our town is much too proper to hold an event like this. Funny part is, I see a lot of our "proper women" there at the event, and when I'm not dancing on the table top or sticking dollars down a g-string,I'm laughing at these women!
That would be fun too!!!
We don't have any men on our board let alone that really help out so that has not been an issue. But an adult night out sounds great!! Just with that you might have to have some kind of babysitting available. If you try something like that let me know how it goes.
We too have several men that help out. But one is the vice-principal, and the other is my husband. LOL But I would love to include them in a night out. I'm just interested in getting some info from smenny! That sounds awesome!
