I found this great web site that has tons of game to play! You might want to check it out. Partygamescentral.com I thought they had some that sounded great!
Our gym teachers also coordinate the activities. What the PTO does to make a (usually) very hot day special is have an ice cream truck stop at the school at the end of Field Day and have each child pick out a treat from a predetermined list. This is something the kids look forward to as part of a very fun day.
Like the others our gym teacher comes up with the games for Field Days, we have parachute games, obstical courses, limbo, throwing wet sponges at someone usually a teacher in a cardboard made booth, the PTO pays for a moonbounce and popcicles for all the kids. I can't think of all the games but this is some! Good Luck!
I would suggest hooking up with your school's gym teacher for ideas. Our teachers have some really unusual games that the kids really love.
At our old school we played a game where you rolled a watermelon up the berm that surrounded the track. There's a relay game where you have your whole team lined up and you have to run a hula hoop through each body (over the head and down past the feet). There's a relay where the entire team has their shoes in a pile at one end and they line up at the other...you run down to the pile of shoes, find yours, put them on and return for the next person to go.
That's all I can think of right now...these are all pretty much party games that work well for outside and a group.
Our school alternates a year-end Art Fair or
Field Day. Well, it's the year of the Field Day, and I've been asked to plan it. Does anyone have ideas for games that can be played outdoors? For example,
Sack races, football toss, etc. I'm having
trouble thinking of low cost, high fun physical
games. Thanks for any suggestions!
