we have had some just information meetings, we can't get anyone to show up to them.
We have alot of people talking down this bond and those people do not or will not have any children in the school district after this year. This bond is going up for election in August, and school is going to be out in a week. I don't know how to get the word out.
Just because your group can not come out as for or against the bond issue does not mean that you cannot provide information. Have speakers from both sides of the issue come and educate your parents during your meetings. That way they hear the pros and cons and can make up their own minds and you have made sure that everyone(at least those who attend)has knowledge of the issue.
We are a small community and have been trying to get a bond passed for 3 years. As a PTO we can not get involved in the process of getting it passed as a group. But I was wondering if there is anyone out their that could give me some advice as to how to get the word out about how bad we need this bond to pass. The reason everyone says it hasn't passed is because they don't trust the superintendent with the funds and they don't want our taxes to go up. Is there any advice out there???
