Problems between board members

Thanks for the advice, the thought has crossed my mind to vote her out, but she has done alot for the school in the past. Most people don't even see the problems. It is between the board members that she changes her mind, we talk and decide on something, go forward with it and then she changes plans. There are 2 of us that see the issues, 1 that never cares what we decide and then her. Eveything as an exec board that we have discussed ends up being a tied vote and put on hold till the next general meeting (then its too late). Needless to say its frustrating that she won't take new ideas into consideration and then when she does decide something she is week on her follow through.
I involved our principal in this and she is upset I did so. Our open house was the same night as this and I heard rumors that she was talking about me and the new t-shirt committee (her friends) won't even take what work Ive done into consideration. I dont know how to handle problems of gossip, this is the drama that I didnt want involved in when I joined PTO.

Advice? Yep....vote her out

But seriously...As a PTO Prez I would be completely lost without our volunteers. I could see her handling things if no one was helping but sounds like she has willing volunteers. I don't get it.

Are there others feeling frustrated with her? Other board members? Rather than it looking like you against her, maybe you could all meet and not confront but express frustrations.

If the membership votes and agrees to take on a project or event and then the Prez goes against that repeatedly, that is perfect reason to be removed from office, provided your bylaws allow that.

By the way, what is she doing RIGHT?

This is the second year I have been VP for our PTO, under the same president. We have always done the same thing, year after year, and this year I was hoping to start a few new functions, such as a family night in the fall and distributing our information in a new way so that it wouldnt just get lost in backpacks. We finally got our info sent home, 3 weeks after beginning the project. It took so long because the president doesnt think anyone else can do as good of job as she can and wouldnt let anyone help her on the final copies. She also went behind us and changed things after we spent our time on it, makes us feel like we wasted our time. The next agenda was school t-shirts and we didnt have a chairman for the committee, so we agreed to work on it ourselves. I had the shirts ordered, we all agreed upon the decision and a day before open house (where we sell our shirts) she changes her mind because a committee was found. I have expressed my frustrations with her and she will not respond to me. She has also turned to the other members and made this all look like its my fault and all I did was listen to her and do as she wanted. She puts down any new ideas and has to have things her way. Any advice on how to handle a situation like this?
Thanks for listening....Kari
