I know here in CA a lot of the science, anthropology and nautral history museums will either do free or reduced cost based on the Title I or Reduced and Free lunch percentages at schools

Have you checked with your local art centers or science museums directly? You would be suprised how many come to the schools.

I don't know if Illinois has anything like this, but here in MI, the Michigan Humanities Council puts together a directory of traveling programs like that. They even have a grant program, to help defray some of the expense.
Hey Everyone!
Just doing some brainstorming and need help. In the past our PTO has brought some outside companies in for assemblies, but it hasn't been done in the last few years and we want to start it up again. We're in the Chicagoland area and if you know of any groups (music, theatre, science etc.) that come into the school and offer programs either school wide or even per class I would be greatful. Thanks. (due to budget cuts our arts and science programs are lacking so I'm really intereted in those but looking for anything!)
