But at least if one was interested, he wouldn't be deterred by the 'room mom' title.
I'd like our school's class reps to be called Room Muthas. A fair compromise, IMO.
If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down. <img src=images/smilies/smile.gif>
We use the title Homeroom Parents. Their job description is: Assisting the teachers with odd jobs, reading to younger children during story time, helping with art day (second set of hands come in handy with smaller children), organizing classroom parties, preparing an emergecny contact list (parents work #'s etc...) in the event of an emergency or school closure.

May I suggest changing the name to "Room Parent" in the event you have some men who would like to be involved? Our room parents job description:
• Acting as a liaison between parents, teachers, and the PTO
• Helping teachers organize parties or other activities where volunteers are needed
• Attending monthly PTO meetings, if able, to report on classroom needs and activities
• Calling parents to remind them of PTO meetings and other events
• Working with Volunteer Coordinator to make sure events are fully staffed
I was wondering if anyone has a specific job description for "Class Mom's" that may be helpful in our search for volunteers. This is the first year our elementary school will be adding "Class Mom's" to our list of volunteer positions and not quite sure where to begin and what to ask of them. Any information would be helpful. Thanks everyone!
