I love the two ideas but with the limited time I have until school starts I thought of a sunflower with a poem would be nice.
We do one every year. The first year (we're only 3 years old) we too did the survival kit of goodies, last year we did heart shape lollipop cookies that we decorated and attached a welcome back poem too and this year we are personalizing tiny little tote bags to hold a bobcat stamp (our mascot) and a stamp pad. We'll also attach a small poem to that one I suspect.
I dont think it has been done before at our school (?) but this year we are doing a teacher survival package...
I cant remember off the top of my head everything in there but some were-- a crayon to help color your day bright, marbles to replace those u might lose from time to time, puzzle piece without you, things wouldnt be complete, lifesaver for when youve had one of those days, mounds for the mounds of stuff you teach, band-aid for when things get a little rough...
We will put it all in a bag clipped with an apple clip magnet with their name on it(oriental trading).
As a PTO we also give each teacher $50 in cash to start the year.
Has anyone ever left a small suprise gift on the teachers desks for the first day of school. Kinda as a welcome back - here's to a great year kinda thing. If so what were some of the things left?
