Tonight was my first PTO meeting as pres also and I was scared to death. I don't think I have ever spoken in front of that many people before, at least not on a stage with a mic in my hand. My co-pres chickened out on me so I had to fly solo...lol. I did manage to cover everything as planned and was actually amazed at how well it went. My heart was racing a mile a minute!!!

We had a great turnout! Our principle scheduled all the required Parent Involvement Info right after our meeting so EVERY teacher and all staff where there, as well as about 100 parents(I won't know the exact amount until I look at the sign in sheet). But all in all I think it was a huge success.

My big hope is that the other parents could see how excited we are to be working for the kids at our school and decide to be a part of it.

Cindy, Good luck with your meeting!

Stacy, you could try the crayola craft night, we did that last year and had a great turn out. And it's very easy! You should be able to find the info on this at ptotoday. Best of luck!

This past friday was our first general meeting of the year. It was a huge success!!!! Doors opened at 6:45pm. We sold pizza, hot dogs, chips, candy, soda and water. Our meeting was at exactly 7:00pm. On the agenda we put the time everyone would be speaking. The entire meeting was 30 minutes and it was very informative. After the meeting we had a magician!!!! It was wonderful. We had over 60 children attend and around 10 teachers (total attendence was 233). That is actually an awesome turnout. Last year, we were lucky if there was 15 people attending. We are going to have a theme with all of our other meetings this school year. I'm looking for themes. Any ideas???
