MnM, I'll second that!
Stacy sounds like you would like to implement Family Fun Nights along with your PTO meetings. Can anyone add a link for her? Tim and the gang will even send you a nice little packet of ideas.
While you are waiting for that you could have a holiday event. Classes can sing holiday songs or talk about Christmas Around the World, Kwanza, Ramadan, and Hanuakah...Chanuka...the Jewish holiday that is celebrated in December.
Are you diverse? You could set up different areas for people with different religions to share their holiday beliefs along with their favorite holdiay foods.
If you are having a meeting in late February or early March make it Suess filled. Woo hoo. We get into Dr. Seuss around here. My friend made oobleck one time with her after school class it was really cool. One meeting I had our principal to read my favorite Dr. Seuss book that I can never remember the name of about growing old and waiting in the dr's office and all the test they run. It is hilarous.
Of course I would have to add a literacy night in there somewhere. Our schools have Fall into Reading nights in the county sponsored by our district FRC. They are awesome. In the spring the FRC puts on "Spring into Math" complete with games and if Easter falls just right there is a bunny shop for the kids to redeem their prizes from the games.
