Thanks for all of your support. Yes, our Moms in Touch group has been praying hard, especially this week. I've put the word into the interim head of school that I'm one call away for anything they can think of. I feel like I've perked the teachers up by having parents bring treats every day this week and into next week. Now, the parents need a boost because it's time for school contracts to go out and there's talk of people leaving the school, etc. I just got two e-mails from parents regarding the whole situation. I think there will be a silver lining in this...I can't really spill it out on here right now but hopefully when it happens in a few weeks or so I can so I'm hanging on for that.
Thanks so much.

Now that's a whole other situation and I can offer you this thought...
Who is your school's patron Saint? ASking parents, teachers, students, etc to pray to them for strength during this difficult time can be healing and progressive.
Keep parents educated and when the timing is right, I would really talk to Father about a special meeting to how the issues are being handled or more of informational....remember (or remind him) loyality is so important right now and if families don't have the "faith" in the school as they did in the beginning, they often leave.
Keep the faith going. I don't mean the whole church but optisim that this will get better. Can you start a prayer chain or group that mets before or after the morning mass?
I'm in Denver and if you follow the Catholic paper, you know our Archbishop said he would refuse Commuion to Senator Kerry. We heard cheers and planty of jers.....and then there are the alter servers....oy!
Just don't forget about you in this and make yourself sick.....
tired PTO Pres...last year my group and yours truly went through some very serious mudslingging on a local web site.It was the worse, I took it very to heart, I wanted to "hurt" the people saying it all but tried to hold a good front. I would sit in the principals office crying but knew in public that the best thing to do is put your head up high, have pride in what you do, what your school does. don't show your weakness when others may turn that into more gossip...be STRONG! truth is after a month it all went away when it was shown how united we were and the support that we received from staff as well. i mean we represent our schools, and the way we act in times like this show what we are really made of...it will get better...trust me

yes, mykidsmom, you're right on target about speaking out. My first emotional response is to call that TV station and give them a piece of my mind but with my "role" I can't do that. We are a private Catholic school so that we can't really garner community support (that works better with public schools) and the church won't let us put signs up everywhere as they don't want us to draw attention to the church. So...we just put on a happy face but inside the school it's like a morgue...crying..etc. Today, at Family Mass, it was a beautiful service and the priest talked about healing and forgiveness and lots of people cried, including yours truly.
So...that's my deal this week and we will survive somehow. I sent out flyers today for a Talent Show which is new for us and the kids are excited about that.
I'm drinking my margarita and taking it easy...

who feels like she's been run over by a truck, then backed up and run over again and again!!!!!
First and foremost, don't exchust yourself and if you read that and say "too late" comeback and read this later....go and just sit for a bit and be to yourself, it's amazing what 10 minutes can do!
Rested? okay, now, you will get through this. As terrible it is right now...there will be a time you cn look back and feel good about what you and your school survived (trust me!) You are on the right track and messages to the staff are going to mean more (as you've seen) than we can totally appreciate. I agree with library mom but PLEASE be careful what you say and please take the time to have statements that go to the public approved and know you have a united front. Very important! Also,I would take caution using the PTO President title when signing your statements....why? Well, if you say "PAINT THE TOWN PURPLE" (bear with me) and the est of your membership are not onboard with you I hope you can see the problems that could cause.
When the dust settles, come back and talk....we'll be listening!
