I use AOL, on my home PC I just added This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as one of my extra screen names. I can separate each grade into groups or however I want to separate them. Parents can e-mail me or I can send out group e-mails and it is FREE!!!You can use a paasword with it so not just anybody can pop in and read the mail also. Any questions just e-mail me. I put this e-mail on everything the PTO sends out, along with my phone number.
When I send out an email, I write the email and then send it five times, each time with one of the groups in the "bcc" field.
mom2m&a embeds an important point here. If you are just going to use your one email, please put the addresses in the BC (blind copy) field. If you don't see it, look in HELP. You might have to do something to make it show - but it should be easy.
This way the 500 people receiving the message don't see the 500 addresses to which it was sent. This is important for a lot of reasons - most importantly privacy, security, virus protection.
Hi Shelly, your return address is whatever e-mail address you're logged into your computer with. If you're using Yahoo Groups, it would be your yahoo address.

I don't use anything fancy - I just divided the list into 5 parts and put each part into a group email using my email address book. I use eudora for my email program, but you can easily do this in outlook also. I set up the "personality" that sends the email to be the name of our group and the replies are set to come to me.

I know it's not fancy but it works. We have a school website and we have discussion forums on it and find that nobody uses them.
We ask for email addresses on our school directory form. I manually add them in and then keep the list for the next year and just edit it.
OK, I have a dumb question: when you send an email, is the return address a school email address or your own personal one?
I am having a dickens of a time figuring out how to send an attachment with Yahoo Groups. Maybe it's because I'm a computer idiot
