new president needs help

When this was may problem, I got to know the staff. They can be your best friend and inside help into getting things done. I also found out that things I wanted to change needed to be done by the school or district not the parent group, so go to any meetings offered and get a real handle on your school and that way when you offer to change or improve something, you won't step on any toes and you will know exactly what you are talking about. Good Luck!

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

I am the new president of my daughters school. one of the problems that I am having is indifference to the PTO. When the elections were held. I was practically jumping up and down to be president and the other positions were filled by practically pulling teeth! I have so many ideas on how to improve my daughters school. I have so many ideas but I am made to feel like an outsider. I was the vice president while I was involved with a school in New jersey and we worked to a packed house. Here its hard to fill a table. My concern is that there are no fresh ideas at the school. I desperately want to get things going but I am more and more feeling like i am chasing a losing battle. Can anyone help me??
