Teacher Appreciation

Our school has 3 main Teacher Appreciation events. All of which food are involved. We send flyers to invite teachers and have volunteers go in decorate and we have volunteers do the cooking and baking. But we do seperate things for the custodial staff and the nurse and the office staff and even the cafeteria staff.

I like the idea of doing a completely combined thing but everyone now has their job classified and all have designated days/weeks...

In our schools, getting all the teachers and staff together for a luncheon can be a diffficult challenge, so we get the entire staff from secretaries, nurses, janitorial, aides, assistants and teachers a gift certificate to a local deli. We attach a nice poem on nice paper and a ribbon and put it in their mailboxes. We have done this for the past couple of years because they all like the idea that they can use it when it is convenient to them. To tell you the truth, all the mugs, pens, etc.... it all adds up over the years...food! now that is something that always puts a smile on a face!! ;)

We had our luncheon on Monday along with a massage therapist. On Wednesday we handed out apples and little thank-you notes with a poem. On Friday we brought in snack items.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

Yep, it's time for poems, and notes of appreciation to our great teachers and staff.

A simple note, along with a strong magnet for the file cabinet can mean so much to a teacher.

Make someone's day special - and know you made a difference too. Staff Appreciation Poems and words worth sharing....

We have Teacher Appreciation baskets and the students fill them with treats, stationary supplies, bath stuff, etc... The teachers really liked them. We've also done "Death by Chocolate" goody days and set all the treats in the Teachers' Lounge. We've done "Supply Restock" by giving them packages of pens, pencils, stickers, notepads, etc (understand, we're a small international school and WalMart-type stores are unavailable so these items are greatly appreciated!) We've done fruit baskets.

Anything to let the teachers know how much we appreciate what they do.

Well, my e-mail was getting too full so I decided that I would just put the poem on the board!! I hope this helps with your teacher appreciation!!

Teacher of My Child

Teacher of my child,
In you his destiny,
Begin it's pattern to unfold,
In your philosophy,
He finds expression,
For every dormant thought,
And new ideas spring to life,
Because of what you've taught,
Teacher of courage,
His patient, loyal friend,
You weaved the substance of his life,
He'll carry without end,
With some part of you,
To help him undefiled,
Walk true and steady to his goal,
Dear teacher of my child.
