Monthly or Quarterly Meetings?

Our bylaws require monthly meetings, however, it allows for a meeting to be canceled with a majority vote of the Board. It allows you to meet more often or not, as needed.

we do monthly meetings. I think we are in a different mode than most groups as we do not have a board. we have four officers and even that is taken lightly. as a group we come to consensus and decide from there, it does mean a little more communication with active volunteers since everyone is a member(no dues). WE send out our minutes school wide and it usually takes two meetings to work through a topic but it seems to work. Our hours are always kept to a hour every month, we do chairs for big events/fundraisers and from there we often have committee meetings for individual events. Just in case you wonder why it is this way, when our principal started the group three years ago she wanted it very oriented to everyone's concerns/desires. We went a year and a half before we had officers, bylaws, got 501 and incorporated. The officers, bylaws came into play because we wanted non profit status. Like i said we are a different group but it does work!

Monthly or Quarterly Meetings? was created by TheMetzyMom
Just finished writing a set of bylaws when it occurred to me that someone in the group will ask what the pros and cons of monthly general meetings vs quarterly general meetings.

Anyone (that means Everyone...lol...) want to weigh in with an opinion on this?

We've always done monthly meetings (arguements is closer to the truth though). I think our group might do better with quarterly.

Let me hear those opinions asap please! :D
