I need some advice- and probably a pep talk, too! I have a tough member. She quit her position towards the end of the year in 2003 because she wasn't nominated for president, and left us scrambling for a replacement. She tried to gain a nomination for treasurer this year, but was denied when information regarding some improper requests for funds was discovered. (She had used her home address and her name to request money without telling anyone what she was doing.) When she was not nominated this year, her feelings were hurt and she bad-mouthed many aspects of the PTO. I can handle gossip, what scares me is her pride in her past. Apparently, in her prior location (Florida) she succeeded in having the Principal ousted from the site and litigation is her middle name. She is extremely disruptive (and annoying). So far, I have simply taken the high road and worked damage control. Any suggestions on how to handle this stick of dynamite?
