hi we send our bad check offenders to the District Attorneys office. It is free to us. They can not collect $$ donated but can go after $$ from fundraisers.
1st Our treasurer calls to ask for the money, then she writes a letter to them asking for payment and sends it certified mail. The letter says this is your last chance pay or will send you to the District Attorney in 2 weeks. If we do not get a payment we send them!! Sometimes they can collect and even if they can not they get put on the county bad check list!! good luck!
Our board has a volunteer/member who owes us money from a fundraiser....from last year during the last board. Her check bounced and an attempt to collect on the amount owed has been dismal. As a board we have sent her a letter saying we will take legal action but she has not responded. I have read articles where pto's have sued but I am looking for your experiences and solutions. Thanks
