I'm not certain, Michelle B, what your first response was about, however I thank you for your attempt in the second. I had already been to that web site and found it lacking. If there is anyone else that has any web sites for teambuilding or board training...please forward...
Thanks....DAMS

After getting a nice e-mail from KC Swan, I had to respond again.
you can go to www.cherokeepby.com/roberts_rules_of_order_help_and_.htm
it's not a parent group site but has a link for workshops on Robert's rules. I hope this helps.

You know, I am seeing more and more as I read through these posts how beneficial my PTA dues are and yes, I will get backlash for the comment but it's true. As I am in the process of organizing training (including Robert's rules and leadership) for 36 schools all free to the board members there. I am putting a lot of work into doing this as many of the other council reps are and I noticed your post was nearly a month old with no response. I am spending way too much time in here and only get further dismayed by the lack of resources available to you as a PTO. I originally came in here to understand the reasons behind the need to switch and I still don't see the benefits and Tim- you will respond, I think that your heart is in the right place as many of the others are and thank god that you are here to field these questions and help them out but I need to help my schools. I really tried to understand and believe me if you knew me, I don't wear anyone's blinders.
If I sound disgusted, I am. I have again been sucked in here until 2:00am and when I read about spending PTA money to switch to PTO and not telling your state offices of your intentions and on and on and on and on. I believe in honesty and fairness and doing the right thing and who cares if someone gets pissy about it. Does it change things? Are you going to change your minds and switch back because they got nasty? NO so why not do it the right way just for the sake of being better than that?
I wish I could help you and if I had more time, I would but good luck to you. I really hope you and all the other concerned parents do great things but if I stay in here much longer I may forget why I joined PTA in the first place, for the kids.

I am looking for some fun, simple and relaxed training material on Robert's Rules and other leadership qualities. Let me know if anyone can help.
