We may be facing this problem too. Check your bylaws to see if there is anything about not supporting any political candidate or taking part in any political activity. Our bylaws say we cannot campaign for or against anyone running for office, but that's it. Depending on your tax status, you might be prohibited from endorsing a tax or levy. As for us, I plan on holding the position that it is not within the scope of our purpose or bylaws to endorse or oppose the measure. Our superintendent wants to speak at our next general meeting, and I suppose that will be OK, but I will insist that he answer questions and if anyone else approaches me about this issue, I'll let them speak as well.
Should the Pto support a operating Levy
or should they stay neutral, since we are
being pressured by the superindent. We don't
know what to do please help.
