We have a membership drive in Aug. and ask for $1 fee. Donations are welcome. This is considered as a small fundraiser to start up the yr. We'll take members any time of the yr. I have to agree that $5 is too high. You are encharged now, change it. Good luck!
We are a Title-I school, which means that most of the students receive reduced-price or free breakfast and lunch. Our PTO has a history of charging $5 per year dues for members. As the new president of the PTO, I question the need for the dues. Our membership is small (about 20 members) and I'm of the opinion that the dues scare some of the parents away.
My question is: Do most of you charge dues? If so, why?
