As a part of our new newsletter, I include a section called "Tid Bits" which lists some dates of historic events, famous births, and other holidays not widely known. Tying in to that, I list some suggested activities to help families learn more about those events. I am making a list of suggested books for families to read together. Topics for September are: Women's Suffrage (Aug. 26), start of WWII (Sept 1), Star Spangled Banner written (Sept 14), Citizenship Day (Sept 17).
Does anyone know of any good, family-oriented books to recommend? I am going to the library in a couple of days...and will no doubt find some good ones there...but can anyone help me out further...now??? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
