I am proud of the fact that a couple of other moms and myself were able to design, copy, and create 1000 patriotic buttons for our students to wear in the wake of September 11th. We worked our behinds off and managed to crank out all of the buttons in one day (a Friday), so that students could wear them to a coutywide patriotic celebration that weekend.
(Of course, I was quite perturbed that our Prez, who didn't lift a finger to help us, came by and took a button for herself even while we were busting our a#%&s to get enough made for the STUDENTS before the end of the day; and we had already decided that none of us would get one until all the students had them.)
Bravo, Everybody! You should all be proud. I am most proud of FINDING THIS WEBSITE & using some ideas from it, along with adding my own ideas for our teacher appreciation gifts and doing it at very little cost. Also, since taking over our Box Tops program, we have more than doubled the amount we took in two years ago.
I would love to see the the credit card idea, especially since spending more than $100.00 today on PTO supplies and having to wait to be reimbursed. Also, please tell me about Red Ribbon Week - anything to do with drug awareness sounds great.
I was very proud of being able to increase our membership by 75%, make more money with less fundraisers, initiate an Arts program, purchase $10K worth of Accelerated Reader Program for our school library, turn Red Ribbon Week into a year long drug free program with donated prizes for every child and, in what was probably my greatest accomplishment, I didn't stomp the $%&@#& out of my very nasty, very sneaky, very back stabbing vice prez. You are going to have to share with us how you pulled off the credit card thing - sounds like that was sent from heaven, along with the construction crew (did they all look like the guys in the diet coke commercial?) and that awesome baby girl of yours! Congrats on the great year and please do share the credit card information!
I survived lossing my Secretary and Treasurer and working with a VP that was ready to give up. Our charter school moved to a new building that the school is paying for with little to no help from the district! We renovated an old (empty for 10 years!) KMart building into a school in less than a years time! (we....okay we all helped here and there but had a construction crew sent to us from heaven!!)
Through the fun of having limited help, I managed to have a beautiful baby girl and survive my little sister's wedding!
But the one thing that I am really excited about I was able to get a credit card for the PTO. It took some help from the school's business manager but now we canus the card instead of our personnal money!
