Hello. Our new Pres has already begun putting ideas together. She will have the new board members meet and get to know each other in early July. We will also share ideas.
Personally, I am in charge of Programs next year. I will handle Parenting programs. I have already done research and found out who does what and what their fees are. Then I put them in a binder to bring to the meeting. Once I get feedback from the other members I will start scheduling for next year. Many of these speakers book up early so I want to have them scheduled. I can worry about refreshments and decorations later; as well as advertising the event.
I'm the new editor at PTO Today. We're working on a story about planning for the upcoming year. I wondered if anybody has planning ideas they would share -- things that if you do them now will prevent serious stress later on. Making sure your big fundraising event doesn't fall on the day that, say, the school parking lot is being repaved. Or making sure you groom successors before the election is three weeks away.
