Merging Schools/conflict of Interest???

Hi, We have 3 schools that will be merging to a new building next year. The principal has proposed that the 3 Presidents serve as a sort of Co-Presidency next year. You can see the problems already. One of the President's is also a teacher who has been in that position for a number of years and is used to running everything her way and has bulldozed her way through some decisions already, and not played by what I would call fair or in the best interest of the kids. How best to handle this next year? I keep telling myself it's for the kids and we should all be able to get along, but the only way to get along is to "go along". Also, it has been mentioned by a few parents that they think it's a conflict of interest to have a teacher as an officer. Are there other PTO's where this happens? Should we amend our by-laws? Of course, no one wants to be the one to bring this up. This whole situation has really stressed me out and several parents don't want to get involved because they are already seeing problems with this teacher/president. Is there a good way to handle this where I won't look like the bad guy? The principal will be absolutely no help here. He is very nonconfrontational and will go along with his teacher.

Any help would be appreciated.
