We have an annual Halloween carnival with two Haunted Houses, one for the smaller kids and one for the older kids. This is our major fundraiser each year. We have games, food, and also feature a silent auction. Last year the drama teacher "took over" and tried to make it into an assembly, big bust! The program was much too long and everyone got restless! Maybe the haunted house theme is declining because the "Halloween" idea is really starting to get a bad rap. Change it to a Fall Carnival and still include a haunted house. Maybe that would work.
As for the craft show, I have a friend in that industry and it's declining as a whole. People seem to be "crafted out"! How do you make your money on this? Booth sales? Food sales? If we know that maybe we could suggest some changes that could work for you!

Our school has 2 large "community" fundraisers that have been around for years. They are not bringing in what they used to and take a lot of manpower which we just don't have. Does anyone do either of these at their school, and if so can you give me some ideas to help give a spark to these events? They have been around sooooo long that I think the faculty and community would kill us if we got rid of them completely. Any help is appreciated!
