Question, are you from Arizona? If so what district are you in?
We are afraid in our district, that we are about to run into the same thing. I am out in Avondale, and in the Littleton school district. The way things look, this could easily happen to us too. If you are from here, did they tell you it was to be in all districts? We have a communication problem right now, and if so, it is good to know this ahead of time. We have run into problems of the community and district being the same for 30 years, and the stress of "New people" coming in and making changes the community and disrtict people are not ready for nor do they want. IE: those wh have been her 10 plus years.

I can't understand how they "legally" can do that! You are organized and funded by parents. Wish I had some nitty gritty legal reference for you, but I don't. If parents, with the "guidance"
of the school, can't be in charge of the fundraising money they raise, I imagine lots of PTO's will dissolve. Good Luck! :(

Where's that reply...."Here's a story we done on just this subject....." I'm only joking of course, but I can't find anything on the website regarding this. Any ideas?

We have been hearing through the grapevine that the school district and school board is going to be taking over our finances. Does anybody else operate in this manner and what are your suggestions? A big concern is that we will not have a say in what we do for the kids. Our state would rather let taxpayers pay for a new sports complex than education and we are facing BIG budget cuts. How can we turn what many people are viewing as a very bad thing into a good thing? Our early understanding is that money we help to raise for our kids will be placed into a school activity account and we have to submit requests to the school board for any purchases we make. One issue that has been raised is the fact that we often prebuy soda for dances when it is on sale and waiting for school board approval can cause us to miss those sales. Please help!!!
