Childcare at meetings

Well, last year before the president from heck took over, we had high school seniors watch the children. They received credit for their childcare classes and we received free babysitting. After the meeting was over we would sign off on their assignment sheets. Of course some one had to take them home but that was the least of it. If I were you, I would ask around at the high school and see if they have any programs such as this one. If not maybe the principal would be interested in starting one. Hope this helps!! ;)

We have been paying an individual $20 each month so that we can provide free childcare to those members attending our general membership meetings. I'm concerned that it appears that this person is being "employed" by us. A CPA recently told me that we should treat them as an independent contractor and have a signed agreement with them that indicates they are responsible for their own payroll taxes. I'd like to know how everyone else is handling this. Thanks.
