Wouldn't it make sense for everyone to write down four or five items they feel the Playground Committee needs to achieve, who they are accountable to (who they report to), expectations of the committee members, and goals. Everyone turn their thoughts in- if you do this in a open session it will take hours and could get messy, this way everyone may not know that it was 'MY' idea and responces will be towards the idea not the person. Back on track... either go throught the ideas during the meeting or have the Board look at them first to weed out or add to. Present the ideas to the membership and vote on them then from there it may be easier to form a really great committee of parents that know what they are getting into and expected of them.
I know this may seem a bit time consuming but sometimes slow and steady wins the race- and gets the job done right!
I am secretary of our PTO and we are having a problem. We need help. We have a playground committee. The leader of this committee basically misran the committee. There is apparently money missing and some non truths running rampant about exactly what the committee has been doing. Anyway, the principal has directed the current playground committee to be dissolved. The PTO is to have a new committee formed with a new chair, etc. My question is this...are there any specific guidelines anyone uses for each committee to follow...obviously we did not have this and now have been directed to compile a set of guidelines....ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!!!!
