We have the same volunteer problem as I'm sure it is common at most schools.
We at St. Liborius School with campuses in Steger and Crete, Illinois implemented a mandatory fundraising commitment for school families based on the number of students attending, and is included as part of the tuition contract. (Now minimally each family participate in fundraising to their contracted amount.)
Since we have the same problem with getting volunteers for our fundraisers, it is my intention to present to our school board a proposal for mandatory fundraising hours from each family based on the number of students attending as noted above.
The bottom line is our fundraising efforts benefit all attending school families why should they feel they are exempt from giving a few hours.
