Hi all. I posted under a separate topic of new PTA in need of assistance and then I found this post. We are a newly elected PTA for a yet-to-be-opened new public school here in Queens, NY. None of our board members has any previous PTA experience - but we are willing to learn and work hard. Would appreciate hearing from you all as to the basics of the organization, day-to-day activities and any handy tips or tricks you've learned from experience. We especially owuld like to know how to help our new school and students get off to a successful start. You may post to the board or send replies directly to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Thanks so much. I'm thrilled to have found this site!
Hi everyone! I am a newly elected pto president for the 2002-2003 school year. I am also looking for some ways to get organized and getting parents involved. How many times a school year do you meet?
Congrats! The little ones are always excited to be in school and enthusiastic about fundraising - not to mention so cute that those of us buying can't tell them no. We cannot forget that they need stuff too and they are lucky to have had you stand up and fight for them. Great job and keep up the good work.
Im also new to the board but after last night I want to see a change I am in the process of running for Pto president well Im cluess any help would be great even if I dont win I do want to be a big part of the Pto. Our PTO now is very unorganized they have no paper trail for funds and no votes on things to buy well until last night our PTO had $15,000 in funds and wouldnt put up $4000 for preschool outside equipment I was so mad but we got it passed last night.
