What are the permanent books that you mentioned, and can we get them at Staples?

Thanks alot dcd and mykidsmom. I have passed your info onto our Secretary. Do you hand write and type or just write?

Let me pass along to you the great resource that was shared with me from the FEN message forum: www.pta.org/interact/index.htm

It's titled "25+ Pointers for Secretaries"

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW (AND HAVE)
AS A PTA SECRETARY
I'll email it directly to you.

I have just typed up the minutes and had them proofed. I mainly followed the adjenda, using it as an outline (and keep my memory fresh as to what happened.)
I don't have my Roberts Rules with me, but that maybe a good source. Otherwise I think she is fine typing them and glueing them in the book, then everything can be spell checked and names are correct!
Oh yeah! I was Secretary for 2 years and have served as Secretary many times in high school clubs! It's a tough position- I wish your new gal luck!

Our new secretary needs to know if there is a certain format to be followed in keeping minutes? She has purchased the permanent books that are needed to keep the minutes in. She is wondering if it is proper/correct to type the minutes and then glue this copy into the book, or does she have to hand write the whole document?
