hi jo, I just have horror stories. I wish we had enthusiastic people who were open to new ideas, we don't. I'm supposed to be the incoming president this year, but I'm really (REALLY) close to resigning. Long story short, I can't get any info from anyone about what we've done in the past,etc. I can't even get the bylaws because for some insane reason, they are on someone's desk at home. Principal wants to have a "planning meeting" on the one day I can't be there due to a final exam but she's going to have it anyways with all the people who don't want to do anything new and different. I have expressed the fact that I have concerns about this, but haven't heard back yet. The saddest thing about this whole situation... no-one wanted to be president at all (or vp or anything else for that matter). But now, no one wants to let me do new things. Sorry for the vent (but at least you should have no problems finding people..that's nice) Maggie
I'm new incoming pres. & just found out that one of our new officers is unexpectedly leaving the area. She is a dynamic, energetic person who will be sorely missed.
I know we'll be able to replace her, but it just throws a wrench in our plans. She had wonderful ideas for our membership drive (which I don't think we've really had before). We'll be making lots of calls in the next couple of days (wishful thinking, did you notice that?).
Anyway, I need some words of encouragement. OR -- What sorts of nasty situations have been thrown at you? If I hear real horror stories, then my situation will seem like nothing!
