This came up at our pto meeting and was shot down, although I disagreed. We we asked to join several other pto's in the area to sponsor 3 little league players from our school who could not afford to pay their dues of 45$.
I thought that it was a great idea. $135 it was for students of our school. It was a split vote and my vote wasn't enough. We were voted down because it didn't benifit all the kids in the school, only a few. My thought was not all kids are that poor, and that cannot pay. What do you think?

SHOULD???-Of course you can, but should? That would depend on the membership and if they thought the outfit was worthy. We have donated money to our local high school band for coming to our school and giving a great performance. To our local childrens hospital in the name of a student who died to help find a cure for C. F. We are also giving to our new K-8 school in our district to help buy extras for the library. Our used book sale will have all procedes go to this endevor. If the membership approves why not??

I would think that if you are talking about a PTO donating to another non-profit, it would have to somehow benefit the students of the school.

Should a non-profit organization give a donation to another non-profit?
