YAY!!! financial peace!!! The bank is going to use the officer dissolution and announcement of the new officers to remove them from the account!!!!! Took going to the home office of the bank but we finally got it accomplished. They are even going to adjust the names on the CD. :-) Now we are waiting to see if we have to pay to get copies of all the checks written on the account because we have NO records from them at all. :-) again it is a mess but we are trying to drudge through it. I received information that we are about to go into collection for a bill for Pepsi that I am being told we already paid.. :-/

thanks for the advice!!!

Hi ptrrabit,

Guessing from post that no one from the school administration is on the account. Are these former officers still at the school? It strikes me as odd -- often, when parents are done as officers and with the school, they can't wait to pass the responsibility to the new team. So, try going to the principal and ask for help. Can the principal reach out to these parents and assist you? You may need to set up a time convenient to all when you can meet them at the bank and complete the switchover.

Good luck!

Hello, I am part of our PTO and also our MPA (music parents association) We have an issue with past officers that will not relinquish the bank account. The particular bank that they used has taken our new officers information and said that they will not turn any records over to us until they have signed to be taken off the account. We have really struggled with this set of people and we are still waiting now weeks for them to remove their names. So we have many things that we pay for at the beginning of the year that is not being taken care of because we simply can not get the money out of the bank. They did give us 3 signed blank checks and an estimated amount in the checking and NOTHING about the savings account although no mention of that at all in our correspondence with them recently. Any suggestions on how to get the past officers to turn over the account?? Also past records.. They don't want to turn these over either because I am being told they want to "re-write" their last few reports. Maybe nothing but sure sounds fishy to me!!

Oh one more financial woe!!! There is a CD for our group that no one has done anything with saying it was to buy new equipment or uniforms when the time came...well guess what... only the 2 people who's names are on the CD can cash it out! hhmmm think anyone from 2005 might still be hanging around and willing to do this!! Amazing mess I have manged to step into so any ideas or words of encouragement would greatly appreciated!!!

I am about to start a new account and start fresh but afraid that it might look bad that we started something separate but I can't keep sitting on peoples checks and not being able to keep track of things.
