We don't have many activities where we need to charge someone in person; all of our credit card sales are online. We use a company at www.p4sso.com that we have been happy with for that, and they do not have a mobile app at this time. However, I've used Square and SparkPay for some other things and they both work quite well. The money just gets electronically transferred to your checking account every day, and it's easy to run reports. Whoever uses the device needs to install an app on their smartphone to get the reader to work, and some people object to that. And sometimes you just have to run the cards through just right, so it can take a few tries. But generally speaking, it works well and you don't need to set up any special bank account--you can just use your existing account. Personally not a fan of PayPal because I've had issues with their online applications, and I don't like the fact that I have to set up a separate bank account, but I know a lot of other people who are happy with them.
Does anyone utilize portable card payment devices such as: PayPal Here or Square in their groups? Pros/ cons? We're finding more and more of our parents are not using cash or checks and are trying to add another payment option for them. Any advice/ experiences/ warnings would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!
