We had a very similar situation last year. Here's what i did: i set up a private meeting with the principal and told her that i didn't want to point fingers or name names but our group was not unified and that the end result was that things were falling thru the cracks and ultimately it was hurting our kids. i asked her to ask the board to come up with a system for communicating meetings, agenda items and project details. Coming from her it carried a lot of weight. we have woman on our board that it more technical and she set us up a google site that anyone involved in the pto can get access to. it's awesome, we have announcements there so everyone knows what's going on and everyone is expected to put items on the calendar there so we are all on the same page. it's also nice because we ask everyone to upload all their flyers, meeting notes etc to the site. best thing we ever did. is the the woman who cause the rift still a pita? yup but it's so much easier to take. good luck.
Anyone else dealing with an ununified board? We have a president who martyrs herself doesn't make all officers aware of meetings, and is now using me as a scapegoat. I thought we are all suppose to work together for the kids? I'm not sure how to approach this. I would talk to her if she would return the call.
