Would it be cheaper to use a standard size paper 81/2 X 11 double side it and staple it in the corner? You don't need anything fancy the parents just want the information in their hands. The newsletter could still be laid out nice just in an easier format to print.
Also could the school do your printing for you? Or could you use Facebook, website, yahoo group where it would be free and eliminate the paper aspect all together.
Just throwing some ideas around. I am surprised the last officer paid for the printing out of pocket thats a big expense to take on.
Good Luck!!

Hello all....I'm new and have already gotten a lot of helpful information from this board, thanks!
My question...I am taking over the newsletter, and the way that it has been done is to have a quarterly newsletter, using 2 or 3 sheets sized 11x17, folded in half and stapled on the side (saddle stitched), so it looks like a booklet. The woman who did it last year said she paid for the printers to have it stapled and folded out of her own pocket to save her the trouble.
Okay, so I start calling around and am getting quotes around 50 cents each...which with 600 kids comes to around $1,000 over my budget! Ack!
So my questions.....is there a cheaper way to have this done? (I can't imagine doing so many by hand.) Would it be too flimsy printing on letter size and stapling on the side? Should we aim for smaller but more frequent newsletters?
