I would just type the names of each candidate under each office, something like:
FOR PRESIDENT (vote for only one)
__ Jane Adams
__ Martha Rodriguez
__ Pat Smith
FOR VICE PRESIDENT etc.
As for counting, since you probably don't have bylaws yet (nobody empowered to approve them yet!), I think you can do what you like. But I'd be inclined to count them publicly at the meeting, with at least two people counting the ballots for each position and no candidate for any office counting the ballots for any office, and I'd keep the ballots for inspection by anyone who wants to see them until your next election. (If somehow you do have bylaws already, they may specify how votes must be counted, and you must follow those guidelines.)
I am working on getting a PTO off the ground from scratch at our school. Our election is going to be on 2/11. I have created the nomination form based on a form from PTO Today. Now I am looking for a ballot. I would also appreciate some advice on counting the ballots. Do we do that at the meeting or present the results later through a hand-out?
Thanks in Advance!!! - Kim
